Here’s what our Creative Director, Sophie (who created this book with local designer Debbie Vayanos) has to say about it:
“The Lake District Pound is all about celebrating the uniqueness of the Lake District and its communities. So don’t expect a wordy fact-book of Lake District history, or even a traditional guidebook. We wanted the Storybook to be as fun and unique as our LD£ designs… full of inspiration, stories and art for you to enjoy at home. It's also a chance to explore the many different features our 2018 LD£ designs, including Holly Acland's wonderful illustrations that helped us bring our chosen characters to life. It’s also a great big thank you to everyone involved, and our way of encouraging you to take a different look at the landscapes you love.
“Every LD£ Storybook you buy helps us continue to support local businesses, and fund important charitable projects that care for landscapes and communities throughout Cumbria. We can’t make a difference without the support of people like you – who love the Lake District and want to help keep it special. So you should feel proud to have this book on your coffee table! ”
